About BEC Section 17A St Luke and St Jude, Church of St Francis Xavier, Petaling Jaya.
Profile of Zone 17A BEC
The SFX Parish BECs were formed in 1980 through the initiative of Father Peter Kim, SJ.
As Section 17 Petaling Jaya covered a large area, it was divided into 3 main groups namely Section 17A BEC, Section 17B BEC and Section 17C BEC. The inaugural chief coordinator for our BEC was Doris Scott, who held the post for 2 years.
In 1982, our BEC as Zone 17A BEC was subsequently subdivided into 3 BECs namely:-
- St. Mark BEC.
- St. Luke BEC.
- St. Jude BEC.
Each BEC was headed by a Chief Coordinator.
Due to many families within its BEC shifted or migrated, St. Mark BEC was later merged with St. Luke BEC.
Currently, Zone 17A BEC has only 2 BECs namely: St. Luke BEC & St. Jude BEC.
