Rev. Fr. Larry Tan, SJ

9th Parish Priest: 1992-1994, 1995-2003

Fr. Larry Tan, SJ was Parish pastor from 1992 till 2003 wiht a short break in between. Working tirelessly throughout those years, he touched many lives – through counselling, praying over and just being a friend. In the administration of the church, he has been a jack of all trades including stand-in maintenance man and caretaker for the premises. Fr. Larry brought transparency in church accounts by providing monthly accounts and revamped the administration system to allow for the smooth running of the office.

A simple, prayerful priest yet Fr. Larry was a man of vision. As pastor he was most concerned about the youth and the people’s desire to know the Word of God. To this end, he formed the Bible Apostolate to effectively help parishioners study the Bible. LifTeen and Lifeline were also formed to bring teenagers and young adults closer to Christ. During his tenure he was also the administrator for Chapel Kurnia Kristus (CKK) [now known as Church of St Thomas More] and was responsible for the building of the Church of Our Lady of Guadalupe.
